Deanna Corbett (Founder/Editor)

WAF is Deanna Corbett‘s brain-baby.

After many years behind boring corporate desks, Deanna (like the typical middle-aged white woman with two kids and an Instagram account), started blogging.

In 2016, she launched Winning at Failing, which was only intended to be a hobby to nurture her love of comedy and writing. However, the Perth comedy scene wrapped its warm blanket around her shoulders and pulled her to its voluptuous bosom where she snuggled right in.

She now brags she has the best job in the world.

Deanna is also a Board Member at Perth’s longest running comedy club, The Laugh Resort. For two and a half decades, The Laugh Resort has been a launching pad for comedians including Dave Callan, Rove, Claire Hooper, Jim Jefferies, Xavier Michelides and Hughesy.

Winning at Failing invites comedians and writers to contribute articles/reviews/interviews to be published in WAF. Unfortunately, we cannot pay writers as we do not produce any revenue. But we never forget those who contribute to the mag, offering you some amazing opportunities and tickets to shows.

If you are interested in contributing or would like to collaborate, please flick me a line at hello@winningatfailing.com. Unsolicited pieces cannot be accepted without prior authorisation from the Editor.

WAF requires that any person who makes a submission to this publication declares any links or associations they have with any particular comedian, promoter or venue.

We prioritise material relating to comedy in Perth or to comedians who work in Australia, however, we will accept other material if it is deemed relevant. Inclusion of material in WAF’s magazine is at the discretion of the Editor – no correspondence will be entered into.

Our priority is to keep up-to-date information on all Perth comedy events/gigs.

We list any form of comedy including, but not limited to, stand-up, physical comedy, sketch, theatre, improv, mainstream and independent films, short films, tv & streaming, podcasts, and comedy-focused courses.

If you are running or promoting an event, the quickest way to add listings to the site is to use this online form. Alternatively, you can email hello@winningatfailing.com. Anything submitted is subject to approval.

If you are attending a show, please be aware that things do change, sometimes last minute. Line-ups often change. Our listings are correct at time of publication. If in doubt, check with the ticket agent, venue or event manager.
